Yes. A&F never features persons of color as models:
Thanks for the rise. Sure, they're using non-Aryans now, but they weren't before all of the lawsuits. Honestly, I rarely set foot in a mall. My nieces'/nephew's bags that I happen to see are always aryan bodies. I'd jump for jeezus if I saw otherwise.
Or.....just imagine if A&F made guns or marketed guns.....oh wait, too late, one of mine is an A&F gun, a beautiful 12ga double.......oh the humanity....
I like their clothes. I am a little too old for some of them but its not all bad. And I have never thought of them as racist. I just don't look for these things.
I don't have children of my own, but have noticed that kids like my nieces and nephews like to shop at these stores that display their 100% aryan nordic models on their bags and other displays. Even southern europeans are not "good enough" for them. Despite the fact that my nieces and nephews are mexican-american (demi lovato looking) and look nothing like the Abercrombie "ideal", they flock to buy these overpriced clothes (with their mom, my sister) saying nothing. Do other parents view this company's image as racist?, enough to not purchase the clothes? They have had several high profile racism allegations in the past with some former employees, which apparently were settled.
I have never bought anything from Abercrombie and Fitch because I never cared for it. However, I never thought of it like this before. I don't know what to feel. I often wonder because there are times, as a Black man, that I don't feel like I would be thought of as "All American" or "good enough".
