FACT: Violent crime, AND property crime in DC has dropped 50% since 1995.
And another fact: even after the new law, the vast majority of DC residents (as Los Angeles, San Francisco, NYC, Boston's ones) don't own and don't carry guns.
Yet, crime is decreasing, and the Batman-like scenario that republitards foresaw for such cities hasn't happened

Chicago also has some of the most strict gun laws in the country and yet we see some that it is a very dangerous place to live depending on the neighborhood. California is pretty strict and yet we see high crime.
A law is only as good as its enforcement or how well it is written.

than it was at the outset of the law, while the U.S. murder rate averaged 11% lower. Coincidence Im sure!
It's called gentrification.
