FACT: Adam Lanza used his mother's legally purchased Bushmaster AR-15-type weapon.

FACT: Dianne Feinstein promises that an assault weapons ban will be introduced in the new Congress. This ban will only be for prospective purchases, not RETROSPECTIVE ownership.

So that obviously puts the anti-gun nuts in a quandry. What will you say and do when the next mass murder using an assault weapon was used from a RETROSPECTIVE owner? Afterall, such ownership would NOT be illegal.

Liberals and other shallow-thinkers, do you see the fallacy of your ways?

The statistical fact is more are killed with everyday household items than are "assault weapons".

A ban is pointless and just shameful political posturing in the wake of tragedy.

I don't know, maybe real solutions like beefing up security including armed security. You gun grabbers are so focused on going after the second amendment you don't care to admit having such lax security at schools is why they're prime targets for these crazy killers.

The original Feinstein assault weapons ban bill in 1994 had loopholes big enough for tanks to drive through.

I believe that any gun safety reform measure should include CONFISCATION of weapons. Offer to buy back the weapons first at a fair price. If the owner of illegal firearms fails to comply, the local government should enact punitive financial damages against the owner. If the owner fails to pay the fines, apprehend him with a warrant and put his azz in jail. Get a search warrant to locate the illegal weapons on the property. The weapons are seized and destroyed by local law enforcement. Gun owner is released from local custody with a warning to avoid stockpiling semi-automatic and fully automatic weapons.

I am assuming that any serious gun safety reform bill would ban the sale of assault weapons and large ammunition clips in retail stores, trade shows and on the Internet. If the gun owner wants to find assault rifles and high-capacity ammo clips in the black market, he might get lucky with finding the right goods. But if he is found in possession of illegal firearms again, he is looking at a serious felony charge with some serious federal sentencing guidelines. Cops will not be knocking on the door this time...they will be coming with SWAT forces. If the gun owner wants to fulfill his ultimate right-wing paranoid fantasy of taking on the "jack-booted thugs" from local or federal law enforcement then he should be prepared for the consequences. Then again, any sober, sane human being would realize that his life is not worth dying over an AR-15 rifle.

More lives saved in America with gun safety reform. More paranoid nut jobs without guns or behind bars where they belong.
