You could see that Piers wanted to smack that guy. I can't blame him though...that guy is a complete idiot. The solution to stopping gun violence is to give out more guns? Just think about it. Lanza's mom had multiple guns. Did that hurt or help this situation? Also the argument is not to get rid of guns completely (although some people do want that). The argument is that there's absolutely no reason why anyone should have a high powered assault rifle like this. I dare anyone to tell me what they need that gun for other than I just want one. You can easily get by with a handgun that holds 12-15 bullets. There's no reason why you need a military style gun that holds 30 or 100 bullets.
The guy's argument saying it was the mom's stupidity...well do we know yet whether the guns were locked up? Many reports said that she took the boys shooting before. I don't think it's beyond comprehension that she gave the kids the gun safe combination. She probably figured if someone broke in, that the kid should be able to get a gun to protect themselves.
And then the stupidest argument of them all...that the teachers should be able to carry guns. Show me a school where teachers are carrying guns and i'll show you a school where a kid will accidentally or intentionally shoot someone one day.
In his present role on CNN, I believe he lacks credibility and integrity. I don't watch that show anymore.
