I want a biometric safe, but the reviews on all of them are horrible (regarding reliability). You think that a smaller piece of tech is going to work BETTER?

It will work better. Give it 20 or so years, and this tech will be hugely popular, and cheap as peanuts

Am I somehow the only person in the world with a laptop which has this technology and has been 100% reliable for over 1000 days in a row? I don't even think about it anymore. It's just a habit, like hitting the power button.

When it comes to new technology, you'll always have a lot of naysayers initially. Bet you one day computer monitors are just gonna be glass panels that would have a HUD display like in sci-fi movies, but you'll have people that'll make excuses on why it's going to fail and not become popular

Are the sensors and electrical components going to be made in china? j/k
What about the one day it breaks on you?
electrical components have an inherently higher failure rate than mechanical ones.
a boot failure won't leave your brains splattered on the wall.
Like the idea of a GPS system, this would tell the potential confiscators where their targets are.
I don't own a firearm; but a friend of mine has said that if gun registration ever became law, he would register one rifle and one shotgun. Big Brother/Sister don't need to know about the rest.
Sure, but I think it would be far harder to implement then it sounds.
Of course it'll take time to retrofit current guns and require manufacturers to implement it in new ones. I even admit it may add a small cost, but the benefits outweigh those hurdles by a mile. Think about it: no more kids have to die. Gangs and drug cartels won't have the incentive to break in and steal your guns because only you (and your designated family member) would be able to use it. It'll pay for itself because you save money on not having to buy an expensive safe.
It's a "fingerprint gun".... it only works if the licensed/registered owner is the one holding the grip. If we made ALL guns with this feature, Newtown wouldn't have happened and responsible gun owners would not have their 2nd Amendment rights infringed upon. Heck, even my crappy laptop that I'm using to write this has this technology built-in, so I know it's not that expensive. It's been 100% reliable every day for years. Think of the accidental kid deaths this could save.

How could the NRA argue against this?
Thank you, no. How about a fingerprint newspaper? Go for that?
