The Clinton Assault Weapons Ban lasted from 1994-2004. Both the Columbine (1999) shootings and the DC Sniper attacks (2002) took place during the weapons ban period. Both attacks included the use of weapons that were on the "banned" list.

In light of these facts, how do anti-gunners reconcile with themselves that a renewed assault weapons ban will DO NOTHING to stop a deranged individual from committing these types of crimes?

The silence is deafening!

How is it that so many liberals and anti-gun nuts be so sure-footed in their desire to ban assault weapons and then not have a valid rebuttal to this inconvenient fact?

Surely at least one of you can come up with something?! Right? I mean afterall, you're absolutely convinced that an assault weapons ban will prevent mass shootings, right?

9/11 ALSO took place during the ban.

That killed more people in one deed than every shooting from that decade I bet.

I don't count two crackheads offing each other as a loss either BTW.

Some might even turn a blind eye to it...if the right people are getting shot.

Not even close. Study up. More than 10,000 firearm homicides occur every year in the USA.

A new AWB won't solve anything. It is the "quick and easy fix" that makes politicians look good and makes jumpy, uneducated people feel better about things.

Even if all guns were banned tomorrow, the violence won't stop. In fact, just the mention of new gun control has people buying everything gun-related that they can get their hands on in a all-out panic. We'll be awash in guns for decades no matter what the politicians do!

You're absolutely right. The wider Obama opens his mouth, and the louder he gets, the more guns and ammo that are purchased. Anti-gun Liberals never have understood gun ownership and its importance to millions of Americans.

In before "There would have been hundreds more shootings if the ban were not in place."
