Who would have ever thought that a member of the Hitler Youth would be an anti-gay bigot?

As if an ex-Nazi lifelong celibate member of the clergy that just so happens to lead an organization that actively protected pedophiles is the epitome of what is normal and good for society.

Does he think that same-sex marrage would somehow be made mandatory for everyone? That's the only way his deranged proclamation makes any sort of sense.

And even then people would still find ways to have kids, just as same-sex couples do now.

"Marriage" is a RELIGIOUS ceremony between a man and woman. It is not up to non-members of the church to be able re-define it.

No, marriage is a civil arrangement that sometimes is performed by clergy in a religious setting. Plenty of people get married without any religion or church being involved.

Marriage is religious when the party getting married opts for it to be religious and the wedding and all of that other nonsense is just that. Nonsense. You don't need a ceremony, a reception or a church to get married. Just the certificate and someone authorized to grant the marriage.

Really? So my marriage, which was conducted by a friend of mine (who is a Notary Public), on a sandy beach with no religious officials present isn't real??

As for the OP, the Pope, like all religious fanatics, is nuts, plain and simple.

And, without the certificate, the religious marriage is not legal under US federal government.

What you have is a CIVIL UNION.

I got married on a sandy beach in St. Lucia. The ceremony was performed by a Baptist minister. Mine was a real marriage. We had to meet with the minister and he conducted a two hour interview with us about our families and background before he would agree to perform the ceremony.
