Like I said, if you don't have kids going to school, you don't need to pay.

What does that have to do with my post Sorry, I don't get your point.

Clearly the childrens safety is of less importance to you than maintaining your fantasy about the evil military. You have no idea what a militarized compound is if you think 1 armed guard would do that.

There are already over 10,000 armed guards at schools around the country.

Even if I did, why should I pay to get more guns in rather than to keep guns out?

Where do you get one per every hundred students. That is three or four classrooms in most schools. One per school and who says they have to be police officers. One can find somebody to train at each school. You do realize many former military teach our children. I know that probably scares the southpaws.

What is even funnier is a left leaner worrying about funding. Maybe take all that money your hero threw at green energy and do something with it? Or the ten billion we blew on GM. ON and on I could go but you get the point. Your lefties would rather build turtle tunnels than protect the children.

So...after hiring a zillion guards who've been cleared in every security classification known to the federal govt, and we figure out how to pay them all...considering the state of most local govt. finances, does the NRA plan to step up for that since it's their idea? ...crickets... I figured that. :P

Will the officers work for the TSA? We'll have the kids removing their shoes to walk thru security, being frisked, and having any contraband in their lunches confiscated?
There are some incredibly stupid people in this country, imo, and unfortunately a majority of them own guns.
Hey, what about the school buses? Will they have police car escorts?
Bottom line? This country has gone completely insane and you're all discussing this as if armed forces in our schools, with our children, was a rational and reasonable idea.

Schools are already Gun Free Zone. How much more "out" do you want to keep?

Like the NRA already pointed out, Gun Free Zone really just an invitation to bad guys. If you want that way, then you should enjoy the consequences.

You make this way too complicated. There's no need for the government to get involved, maybe except to mandate that each school must have peace officers on duty. The school can decide whom to hire.

The parents should pay for the cost by ways of tuition fee. Just part of cost going to school.

Simple as that.
