I'm not asking whether spanking is wrong or your stance on that matter. Just asking do you think the father's action was for disciplinary actions or child abuse?
1- I don't understand why people Post this type of personal videos on youtube
2- it's not discipline! If you don't want your child to use the internet, speak, explain, but why beat?
Once again, "discipline" takes a lifetime. It is a continuing process of TEACHING a child the proper way to behave.
People have co-opted the word to mean "punishment."
This is obviously not discipline. It is anger in action.
Yes, this is an old video that was discussed last year when the girl in the video posted it to "out" her father, a judge, who she had a grievance against. She recorded it and saved it for many years before she released it.
I'm not trying to excuse what is happening in the video, but there is a LOT of family context involved here. It's not a good example of ANYTHING for discussion. It's incendiary at best and makes me wonder what's your point in posting it.
I personally wonder about the age, and where this crosses the line into sexual issues...it is just creepy. And the Mother was in on this too...that is really messed up. The whole dynamic is bizarre. That family needs so much therapy for their dysfunction, it could be an entire career.

I'm betting the wife was next in line for a beating.
Hopefully, someone who does this to their children will see this video and give serious thought to their actions and the motives behind them. Maybe feel some shame. (unlikely)

I was too upset to watch the whole thing so I missed Mom's comment. That makes it even worse. I wonder what happens to her if she disobeys her husband.
Yes, it certainly looked like child abuse to me.
