If folks don't watch CNN or any other channel due to it's content of political viewpoint, the ratings fall, revenues fall, and the company can then make the decision to either keep the offending individual and loose more money, or tell him to shut up, or fire him.

Others have called upon the White House to build a Death Star (31,000 signatures) and allow Texas to secede (120,000), so a petition asking the White House to deport a media personality exercising his right to free speech seems to fit right in. It should be noted that there are many worthy petitions on the site as well, but the weird ones tend to stand out.
