As has already been pointed out, what's so nefarious about it? I thought gun owners were proud of their guns. This way, if burglars are avid newspaper readers, they know which homes not to target.
Is it universal? Does every liberal in this country have the IQ of a house plant?
Obviously ... and I contend that it is OBVIOUS to anyone with a freaking brain, that it is a violation of privacy, and a deliberate effort from a very dogmatic and vile group of cockroach left wing communists to intimidate law abiding people who happen to be their god damned neighbors. But more importantly, it's a security threat that could have serious consequences for EVERYONE ... gun owners and those who choose not to have guns in the home too.
It provides useful information for criminals to plot which homes are likely to have firearms and which are likely to not have them. That way, they can plan to burglarize the gun owners homes when they are not home (and a chance to steal firearms), and also identifies those who don't have firearms and thereby more vulnerable, placing them in greater danger of having their homes invaded even when they are at home!!! Some may even be liberal anti-gun zealots, which is just more evidence of the self destructive nature of left wing lunatics.
And for those pathological liars who falsely claim not to want to ban guns, but just want them registered to keep criminals and mentally ill people from getting guns, THIS KINDA CRAP is exactly why right minded law abiding gun owners object to gun registration, because it never ends ... this moronic crap never ceases with you people. You all need to knock it off, because you are a minority in this country, and it would be wise to stop your assault on the 75% majority before we reach the limits of our law abiding patience levels with your nonsense.

if you take out any under the age of 18, then take out all criminals and mentally ill who should not be owning in the 1st place. you will find that more people own or have access to firearms than you think.

great, so we should get rid of the documents that founded the USA. when you do get rid of them, you also get rid of the documents that give the government their power. when those are gotten rid of, each individual state can then be considered a soveign state once again free from the federal government.

If you've been following the gun "debate," you may have heard of a paper called the Journal News that obtained the gun registration list and published an interactive map showing the location of all houses that may have weapons inside. The "journalists" claim it's a public service to let everyone know where the so-called "dangerous firearms" are.
Citizen outrage at this is palpable as many pointed out this is a road map to criminal seeking locations where they might actually steal guns. The clearer thinking folks realize that this map to where the gun aren't is actually making is safer for the criminals to break into homes that don't have the means of defense.
In an ironic twist though, the editors and reporters at the Journal News have been the subject of massive letter writing campaign, paper and e-mail. One website published the names, addresses and Google street-views of reporters' homes on their website in an ironic twist. This led the editors to file complaints with police over the contents of certain e-mails that made them "uncomfortable." The police investigated and found their claims to have no merit, so what did the Journal News do?

A Clarkstown police report issued on December 28, 2012, confirmed that The Journal News has hired armed security guards from New City-based RGA Investigations and that they are manning the newspaper’s Rockland County headquarters at 1 Crosfield Ave., West Nyack, through at least tomorrow, Wednesday, January 2, 2013.
According to police reports on public record, Journal News Rockland Editor Caryn A. McBride was alarmed by the volume of “negative correspondence,” namely an avalanche of phone calls and emails to the Journal News office, following the newspaper’s publishing of a map of all pistol permit holders in Rockland and Westchester.
Due to apparent safety concerns, the newspaper then decided to hire RGA Investigations to provide armed personnel to man the location.
So men and women with guns will keep you safe from unsubstantiated threats? Hmmmm.
They publish lawsuits, real estate transactions, arrest records, marriages in the newspaper too. Are those people being TREATED LIKE SEX OFFENDERS OH MY GOD too?
Considering recent events and the circumstances around and affecting gun ownership and gun owners in the United States, it was a pretty dick move.
Funny thing though, the newspaper in question hired armed guards to guard their building.
No you just dont like to hear anything that conflicts with the narrative you and others have a created. You dont want to accept or listen to how the conditions that prompted this amendment mostly dont exist. I have no problem with guns being for sport and protection, but lets dispense with this notion that its to prevent tyranically govts.

I read here that congress has no authority to make law on the militia. something that is still in effect today.
It isn't like you can already get this information, they are just doing something you and I can already do at home. You guys think you live in secrecy because of your 2nd Amendment? The government knows who owns guns even without making you gun owners get a license to own a gun.

It is a states issue and is something that should be public record for the country. Unless you are saying gun owners are embarrassed to be gun owners.
