Apparently President Obama hurt the feelings Republican House members during his "fiscal cliff" press conference leading some to say that his remarks about Congress threaten to scuttle the deal. Eric Cantor's spokesperson Erica Elliott twittered, "So...I'm confused...does POTUS want a deal or not? Because all those jabs at Congress certainly sounded like a smack in the face to me,"

So...Erica...I too am confused...is your pride more important than doing the job that Congress and especially the House supposed to do? What's more important, your freaking pride or doing what's best for the country?

The attack continues on the GOP - the real enemy of America to many...

Is it pride or principle? ...the principle that we must spend less than we take in?

Obama is an embarassment as he holds the country hostage to 'tax the rich', a move that does absolutely nothing to resolve our Obama derived economic problems.

The 'rich' pay most of the bills and yet that lying charlatan of low moral character that some call 'their president', continues to mislead his mindless minions with the fanatsy of solving the economic crisis with such a paltry sum that would be reailzed if taxes went up on the wealthy.

None of Obama's zombies or news media dare ask the ultimate disposition of that money. Only a zombie imprinted on Obama would think it a good idea to hand over their wages to an administration which squanders the precious taxpayer cash it already collects.

Obama is simply after scalps while the economy loses signs of life. More amazing is the silence of the news media and the incomprehensible gullibility of the uninformed Oabam supporters.

Republican pride???? what fantasy world do you live in?

What Obama wants is not best for the country. Therefore in resisting him the GOP is doing what is best for the country.

If the rich is paying most of the bills then who exactly is the middle class? If the middle can not pay most of the bills then who has most of the money? And if only the wealthy have most of the money how did that happen? And how long is that situation going to last? If history is used as a gauge it's not for long.

DC is one big stage people.

They had 17 months to work out a deal because they couldn't work out a deal to begin with.
They ALL ignored the elephant in the room until the 11th hour.

Blaming one side or the other is nothing but deflection of your own party's fault.

There will be many posters on here that agree with what the GOP is doing because they suffer from the same issues with pride as their elected officials. When people can look into the mirror everyday knowing they're putting theology over progress we have a real problem in Washington.

Only the Sith deal in absolutes...

It amazes me that all the left can do is name calling with so mucn at stake. Just like families do every day, the government must learn to live on what it takes in. Period. That is not a matter of pride. It's a matter of logic. Something the left seems to be, seriously, lacking.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't like bipartisanship. Never did, never will. If I want bipartisanship, I'll move to Cuba, thanks. Political gridlock IS what democratic government is all about. What's the point of having a democratic government if there is no opposition?
