...to help ALL Americans and our MASSIVE debt?

We have a spending problem NOT a revenue problem.

Perhaps the Commander-in-chief could step up and show leadership skills:

Actually the deficit started to balloon after we started cutting taxes. We have a revenue and a spending problem.

He's doing what most Americans voted for.

As Ovacatto so eloquently put it the other day (and I'm paraphrasing big time), perhaps if corporations would spend more time paying living wages as opposed to spending billions fighting every little thing, the populace wouldn't be so apt to vote for what you perceive as "tax and spend" types of politicians.

Besides fear of Jesus, what incentive does the average middle-class or lower voter have to vote Republican?

None, as far as I can see.

"Corporations" don't force anyone to work for sub-par wages. This ain't North Korea!

Besides, liberals want the "fat cat" corporations to turn over their profits to the government so how could they pay their workers more?

Oh yeah...borrow it all like our democratic "leaders" do.

OK then let's jack up taxes on the "rich" (say a top rate of 89%?) AND cut spending by 12%.

Would that solve the problem of Congress not having enough money to play with?

I would actually prefer that we let all the tax cuts expire. That would greatly reduce our deficit and everyone would help pay down the debt.

To answer your query,....YES,...as long as it is an across the board sacrifice.

No exceptions except for the young and infirm.

We all favor spending cuts until we find how they affect us. For example farm subsidies, "Who cares, I am not a farmer." But the price of milk could double.

But only if the government makes massive cuts in spending to go along with that.
