I really like the avatar "Old Army Soldier".

I agree- the entitlements have gotten out of control. The US has turned Kennedy's challenge, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" into "Ask from your country whatever the politicians will give you in exchange for your vote".

The US, as we know it, is doomed, as the majority of voters now are into the opposite side of the Kennedy challenge. Entitlements are a disease which can never be removed, once in place. The nation cannot afford the wild spending spree of the last 20 years and yet we have no politician who has the will to curb this insanity.

What will come of us? The "Balkanization" of the US with the breakup of the current US. It will be the only way that states will be able to avoid anarchy which will result from crushing US debt. In this fashion, by reckless and irresponsible spending, our traitorous politicians will deliver us from fiscal hell back to separate national entities which will require fiscal discipline.

Default Smack!!

Someone should have walked up to her and smacked her right in her face. And yes, if she is trying to "buy" electronics with her EBT card her stamps should be terminated because obviously she isn't worried about eating or feeding her kids. If she tries to apply again for help and she states she finds it hard to care for her kids, she needs her kids to be taken away from her. Obviously she does not have their best interest at heart and she is using them as a pawn; if she does in fact have children.

Any studies to provide, or is this merely your conjecture?

And it is why we need to keep our right to protect ourselves. Entitlement is an ugly disease that endangers. I believe it created the recent young male school shooters. In women, it creates thieves and stalkers. I had never known men to need restraining orders against women but now I have, and those women were/are all the ones using the system, used to getting everything they want for free.

Some of the stories I've heard first hand are incredible. I think constant handouts for more than basic need drives people insane in a way, and sometimes even turns average people into criminals. It definitely affects morals and self esteem which is also dangerous. There's nothing like being laughed at for working and paying for insurance by a system scammer grabbing every entitlement possible and bragging about it. They know what they are and use "stuff" to make themselves seem better. And it's not a big step over to criminal behavior, along with anxiety and depression and drug dependence.

Walmart has also removed/in the process of removing all their "self checkout" counters as well.

There's a high price to pay to cater to the lower class whose wants are more than their wallets can afford.

I know someone who works at Wallymart in "Loss prevention" and they are busy as all get go.
Ah-ha. "the lower class".........interesting description. Of course that must mean you are "higher class"....in your estimation.

Yeah, those food stamp folks have it so great and are living high on the hog. All you jealous right wingers should quit your job and try it since it's so great. Gotta love how a story about one stupid criminal blows up like this.

Um, are you 100% sure on that? Welfare aid cards valid at casinos

Hope you can back that up with proof, although that's doubtful. There's tons of fraud all around in this area. Just Google "EBT fraud".
