This is getting out of hand now. A lot of people lack basic economic laws.

Terrible that people want to be paid more than $5 an hour by a coorperation that makes millions every minute.

You mean $7.25 an hour or were you exaggerating? If you are ignorant, than I think it would be rather silly of you to make the comment you did. If you were exaggerating, then why? Why would there be a need to exaggerate if $7.25 was too little? So which is it? Ignorant or exaggerating?

I think they have a good case. Try surviving in NYC on $8.90 an hour, the median wage for food service or food preparation worker in New York City.

Or this lady: "Pamela Waldron, who after eight years at KFC makes $7.75 an hour, which typically amounts to around $10,000 a year. "

The article makes a good point that these jobs are no longer just for teenagers or students, but now include all kinds of people who have lost their jobs.

You have been brainwashed by the rich. Why don't you send a contribution to the "Save the Rich" charity? Honestly $7.25 or $5 is much of a muchness. What type of life is someone going to have on that wage? And before you give me the tired old "well they should go to school" line, I hope you realise many people earning that wage are college graduates who can't find a job in their chosen career due to the economy.

But those are all franchises. It's not like the CEO of any of them can just up their wages.

What are they demanding..$50K/year, stock options, vacation, 401K and a key to the executive washroom ?

Are they at least protesting in English ?

And the crowds you see demonstrating are union workers who have been bused in by big labor from elsewhere in an effort to pressure these establishments to unionize, which is good for the unions...not always good for the workers or the consumers, but good for the unions (and democrats).
