According to the Washington Post, the working group on gun control led by Joe Biden is considering some of the following recommendations for gun control.

- universal background checks for firearm buyers

- track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database

- strengthen mental health checks

- stiffer penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors

The official recommendations will come out later this month, but supposedly these are some of the things being considered.

It's all very reasonable. The NRA and their Republican cronies will fight against it tooth and nail all in the name of "Freedom."

universal background checks for firearm buyers. Already happens, it's called NICS

- track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database. Sure when my ccw permit is valid in all 50 states plus the 7 more states only Obama knows about.

- strengthen mental health checks... yeah right and this will count all public servants too cops teachers, tax collector right up to president right? It better..

- stiffer penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors.. Forget Gun Free School Zones is hasn't worked once in 70 tries.... it's time to forget that idea and do something else like arm teachers.

The official recommendations will come out later this month, but supposedly these are some of the things being considered. Sure they will

Bidens last ban worked LOL

You bet.....

We need laws to deal with the insane...... We need laws that deal with violent offenders instead of the current catch and release games we play.

We don't need any more help from you whining grabbers either. 50+ years of failed policy demands you sit down and s.h.u.t up.

Dealing with the insane will be boring but it must be done. Guns are not the problem insanity is..

It's too bad you pipe dreamers have become so unstable..... gay sex wasted money trying to legalize drugs ad nauseam.

Know it now you grabbers will never get the guns... Just stay out of the way.

You don't need a background check at a gun show or private sale.

I'm thinking that might change---if universal really means universal.

But none of these prohibit your right to own a gun, unless a background check disqualifies you.
