Why does the NRA oppose waiting period when buying a gun? (drug, deaths)

A DUI or restraining order within the last 12 months will at least get you a delay.
I've never heard of a traffic ticket causing problems UNLESS they failed to appear and have a warrant out for their arrest.
I don't care what YOU have heard of. I stated a REAL case. He tried to buy a gun BEFORE his trial date and was rejected. as it turned out he was found NOT guilty and later got his gun.
If there is ANYTHING on your record involving the law, they can deny your purchase.

Like I said each state has different rules. I have sold many cars and never have I had to show a license.
Suppose you have had your license revoked. How do you sell the car you no longer need?
What do old people who have turned in their licenses because they feel they aren't capable to drive and want to sell their car?
I am not claiming what you have experienced in your state isn't true, it just doesn't make much sense to me.
I am only talking about when someone buys a car or renews their tabs.
I, too, have sold/traded many cars (usually dead or dying) and I've never had to show my driver's license; my only responsibility as a seller is to fill out the buyer information at the bottom of the title and mail it in within a certain amount of time (I think fifteen days).
I have also bought many cars (since I never pay more than $1,000 for a vehicle, I have to replace them more often than those of you who can buy new or almost new - right now, I'm driving a 23-year-old Chevy Cavalier wagon that I bought almost 2 1/2 years ago for $700.00). And I always have to show my license when I transfer the title.
what do you have to fear from a background check unless you are a criminal? I don't understand how anyone in their right mind could be opposed to background checks and waiting periods when buying a gun. do many members of the NRA have criminal backgrounds? then I could see why they would be opposed to it.
I would take it a step further and require gun owners to be licensed. you need a license to drive a car but any idiot can legally own a gun?
Because guns are legal to buy just like food is legal to buy
NRA talks about guns...it is the same as the drug dealers will talk about drugs.
Drugs are illegal to sell illegal to use illegal to distribute , guns are a constitutional guarantee , so anti gun nuts equate an illegal activity to a legally guaranteed activity

I understand you but you can compare them anywhere.
