I'm all about redemption....but in order for redemption....don't you have to come clean? No matter what deal was struck to free Ray Lewis..doesn't the fact that peoples lives were lost and the truth is still being concealed count for something?
Did you somehow miss the fact that the men whom he testified against were found not guilty in a court of law?
Mr. Lewis being charged was just a political stunt by the DA who wanted to capitalize on a high profile case.
There is no evidence that Mr. Lewis ever killed anyone, only that by his own admission, that he was less than completely truthful under what was likely a pressuring interrogation.
The cops were trying to frame him - and he made a mistake.
The cops and DA should have been put on probation, not Mr. Lewis.

I wasn't, in any capacity, trying to absolve the cops or the justice system. I'm well aware of the downfalls of the system. Also, never said he murdered anybody.
Simply that he was a "murder suspect"..... That being said, he implicated himself during the trial as an accomplice. He was coerced, by way of plea bargaining, into snitching on his friends. If this did not happen...he had no intention on furnishing the murderers.

Ray Lewis and his friends get into a fight with two men in front of a bar.
In a rush, they pile into a limo and peel off..
Both dudes found dead in the same spot of the fight.
The limo drivers account - "Lewis told everybody to 'Just keep your mouth shut and don't say nothin' '
A passenger in the limo said Ray Lewis dumped a laundry bag in a restaurant dumpster
Lewis' DEFENSE admitted he lied to police.
Ray Lewis knows who killed the men.
Maybe he does - in fact there is a name for the possible killer - but I won't say it because no one is being charged and that name is public knowledge anyway.
I am not interested in making allegations against anybody.
I am interested in the truth - and the truth is that Ray Lewis was a witness to a brawl that unfortunately ended in the death of two men - and nothing more.

He also reached settlements with the families....
This is not much different from OJ. Except, unfortunately for OJ, there weren't accomplices around to make it ambiguous. Why isn't OJ the same hero? Do you think if OJ was able to play 10 more years he would have ended the same fairytale way?
A sports hero is simply one recognized for a long record of talent at his profession, just as an executive is only recognized for service to his business/industry. We need to stop using the word "hero" to denote "singular ability in an industry/occupation".
Short of people who save lives even putting their own safety at risk, there are no"heroes".

O.J. Simpson is respected for his accomplishments on the football field by those of us who have come to grips with the fact that the man was pronounced not guilty of murder on October 3, 1995.
If he's managed to go this far without it being an issue any longer, then its dead.
He'd be a damn fool to dredge it up now by so called "coming clean." Besides, those guys are dead, and they're not coming back regardless.
All I know is that the law did what they could to pin it on him, and came up lame. Oh well.
