I think what the plan of attack is to move and introduce bills fast to try to out maneuver the NRA and other lobbying orgs. Biden has given his recommendations a day early and that was up from the end of the month. I think they feel if they wait till March or so it will die off and other things like the debt ceiling will take front stage. I think we will see a hard push for a mag ban.

Biden hasn't offically released the taskforce findings or recommendations yet, has he? although there have been some hints in the media.

I agree. It's now or never, basically. Been watching MSNBC and they are really pushing hard for an assault rifle ban across the board, and also banning hi-cap mags, universal background checks, and closing the gunshow loopholes. CNN isn't really doing this, neither is FOX, but MSNBC is flooding their channel, on all their shows, with the gun restrictions.

Any bill introduced will be IGNORED by the GOP-controlled house and 2nd Amendment-friendly Democrats. This is a waste of time.

This is also a miscalculation by the Dems. Just like the tea party booted out Republicans from moderate districts and states, the gun grabber Democrat from the Northeast (sans PA) and the West Coast will endanger Democrats elected from between the Northeast and West Coast. Right now the states with Democratic Senators up for re-election in 2014 that might be in danger are from AK, MT, SD, IA, AR, LA, WV (maybe), NC, and/or VA. These are gun friendly states especially the first 6 I listed, WV probably will vote for the incumbent, NC and VA are tossups. Unlike with the whole gay marriage and abortion social distractions, I think you have Democrats more likely to support 2A rights than anything else. It's a lie that MSNBC and left liberals say to themselves that "their side" doesn't have gun nuts. Oh, they do, they just hide in the closet.

Indeed. It's all smoke and mirrors and serves only to make idiots think the government is actually doing something.

I think this is going to backfire on the DNC, though. They just made their Midwestern Democrats into potential sacrificial lambs in 2014, and 2014 has a lot of Heartland Democrats up for re-election

I'm not a RWNJ. I don't have wet dreams about potential civil wars, I don't do <censored> while holding a copy of Atlas Shrugged in my left hand, nor have Beck posters on my wall or think killer, draconian, genocidal austerity cuts are necessary for the US to prosper. You must have me confused with someone else

So, another "let's just shut down all conversation with insults" kind of person. How original.
