On April 19, 1775, British troops, some 800 strong, were dispatched to Concord, Massachusetts, to arrest Sam Adams and John Hancock and to seize a cache of weapons known to be stored at Concord. When Dr. Joseph Warren sent Paul Revere to warn Pastor Jonas Clark (in whose home Adams and Hancock were staying) that the Crown’s troops were on their way to arrest the two men and seize the guns at Concord, he alerted his male congregants. About 60-70 men from the Church of Lexington stood armed on Lexington Green awaiting the Red Coats.
Upon spotting the citizen militia, a British officer demanded the men throw down their arms. They refused; and the British troops immediately opened fire. Eight of the Minutemen were instantly killed. The colonists returned fire in self-defense, and the shot was fired that was heard ’round the world. By the time the troops arrived at the Concord Bridge, just a few miles away, hundreds of colonists were waiting for them with muskets in hand, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Make no mistake about it: attempted gun confiscation ignited America’s War for Independence. And I am convinced that Pat Buchanan is absolutely right. If the federal government attempts to confiscate the guns of the American people, “There would be a revolution in this country!”
Quote:
“On Thursday, Feinstein will introduce her dream bill to disarm the American people. The legislation is open-ended and includes provisions to re-register firearms and submit the fingerprints of law-abiding Americans as if they’re sex offenders.
“Feinstein’s bill will also include a buy-back provision that will allow the government to confiscate all firearms. Both Feinstein and New York governor Andrew Cuomo have said that is their plan.
“It is a gun confiscation bill.
“The proposed bill is open declaration of war on the Second Amendment.
That was but one of many incidents going back to the French and Indian War of 1754 that contributed to the start of the revolution. Revolutions dont start instantly but are the cumulative effect of many things over a long period of time.
Bet you were in the back of the class, sound asleep when they taught the history of the American Revolution. Try "taxation without representation" if you want the actual reason.
More and more citizens are referring to that war as "The First American Revolution".
Yep, and the Second American Revolution is gonna be fought on the internet cause we know you guys are willing to actually take the streets with your guns to shoot anyone who disagrees with you.
The time is now to make a list of telephone numbers of friends who will respond at a moments notice to stop any armed thugs from stealing your firearms. It is time to meet with friends and discuss ways of protecting yourselves from armed aggression in your neighborhood.

Taxation without representation, was one of the main reasons for the revolution. But the first actual battles, were trigerred by the goverment trying to confiscate the guns of private citizens.
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. - Never more true than now.
Just stop, please. The credibility of the average 2nd amendment supporter has already had enough damage done by the likes of Alex Jones. Now we're twisting history around to support an agenda? Isn't that what the left has been continuously accused of doing?

Another good way to find out how many really stupid friends you have, versus reasonably intelligent acquaintances. Good luck with that!

The history books have been rewritten by liberals, it's time to set the record straight. We have taken our freedoms for granted at great cost.
what really happened
Quote:
Before dawn on September 1, 1774, 260 of Gage’s Redcoats sailed up the Mystic River and seized hundreds of barrels of powder from the Charlestown powder house.
The “Powder Alarm,” as it became known, was a serious provocation. By the end of the day, 20,000 militiamen had mobilized and started marching towards Boston. In Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, rumors quickly spread that the Powder Alarm had actually involved fighting in the streets of Boston. More accurate reports reached the militia companies before that militia reached Boston, and so the war did not begin in September. The message, though, was unmistakable: If the British used violence to seize arms or powder, the Americans would treat that violent seizure as an act of war, and would fight. And that is exactly what happened several months later, on April 19, 1775.
Quote:
Governor Gage directed the Redcoats to begin general, warrantless searches for arms and ammunition. According to the Boston Gazette, of all General Gage’s offenses, “what most irritated the People” was “seizing their Arms and Ammunition.”
You won't find this in mainstream. Both the democrats and republicans have turned their backs on the Constitution, it's time for the people to say enough! Take this country back from these traitors of the Republic.
