The wild west had more gun regulation, how ironic is that.

Tombstone had far stricter gun control than it does today

but you had to check it at the sheriff's office or the Grand Hotel, and you couldn't pick it up again until you were leaving town," said Bob Boze Bell, executive editor of True West Magazine, which celebrates the Old West. "It was an effort to control the violence."

1. It was a very different world in the 1880s.

2. That law only applied to that municipality.

If Chicago wants to have tight gun regulations, go for it. You can't however apply the same standards for Chicago as you do rural Wyoming considering the difference in culture is so vast its almost like they aren't even in the same country. If Grover Cleveland would have tried to ban all firearms nationwide, that wouldn't have went over well. He couldn't have done it, as people back then had more respect for the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment.

And yet the "wild west" was much more violent than things are now. Much like cities with the strictest gun control regulations now are far more violent than areas with much more freedom.

Quite right, law enforcement only had to contend with six shooters and repeating rifles, not AK 47's.

And much less people, go figure, desolate places have less violence than crowded mega cities, I wonder why?

It's the gun laws, hehehehehe

I wouldn't call disarming KNOWN thugs, killers and wild six gun bandits the same thing.

Practically NONE of those men could own under 2013 laws and regulations.

Don't need to...I know who he took the guns away from.

It sure was CCW holders who filled out 4473s........
