Of course it is. We're paying people not to work.

Oh please. This is such liberal BS. iPad and Iphone sales (along with all other smart phones) are at an all time high> Car sales sky rocketing, housing market is coming back. Every restaurant I've been too on the weekends is 1-2= plus waits. I see no reduced sales in high end clothing; plenty of women walking around with 2k+ Coach purses.

Every single flight I've been on in the past two years has been sold out. First class, Business, et al. I've seen on shortage of American Tourists in China, South America, and Europe.

Or is it only the 1% out there doing all this? SOMEONE has money and alot of it. It isn't just the rich in this country doing and buying these things.

This entire recession has been overblown and made into something that it was not. And spare the: You live in a rich area argument. No, its not "rich." And, moreover, as I just outlined, I've travelled all over this country and I don't see racks and racks of poverty. Go to Peru and tell me how much of a recession and how unemployed people are? We here are just plain an simple spoiled rotten. I saw thousands of people living in mud huts, driving a 1970 era car. Not too many of those driving down the streets of the good ole US of A now are there?

And I ask, why is it, some people who have been laid off find another job in a few months? While others, "just can't find a job years, although they are trying?" BS. They aren't trying. They are too busy collecting their funemployment while the rest of us pay their way.

Yes, Americans are spending, but the problem is, they are using far too much credit. If many people didn't have the credit cards, they wouldn't be able to shop, dine out and buy the coach bags.

I'd hate to see the unpaid debt at the end of the month.
