Nope not the USA, a small Constitutional Monarchy in the South Pacific.
Interesting that so many of the top 10 countries are Constitutional Monarchies where the worst counties are Republics with the exception of the Saudis which is not of course a Constitutional Monarchy.
But why do so many Americans go on about freedom, you have no more freedom than Aus. Belgium,France etc etc etc.
Oh you have the right to carry fully auto Assault rifles, not unless you are in the military you do not.
I guess because it's 'our' freedom we are thinking about. New Zealand might be a wonderful place to live. But, I don't live there. Nor do I live in Australia, Belgium, or France. I live here, in the United States so the Constitution I care about is the US Constitution.

Not sure if there are any free countries. the most free places are the most isolated. Probably Siberia where you can live undetected by russian govt agents.
This is the country that voted to reelect George W. Bush, those voters could be in chains, but if FOX News told them they were free, they'd raise their manacled hand to their heart and start singing God Bless America.
The Dumbing Down of America is skillfully and artfully practiced on these low information rubes.

No surprise there - for several reasons.

Parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarch is simply the best system of government humanity has yet devised.

Narrow ignorance, mostly. There may be two hundred or so Americans who both know about the alternatives and are still willing to make an argument for American exceptionalism. All the rest are imbeciles.

And then it got even worse. They voted in Obama. And as we thought things might look up, the damn fools reelected Obama. Now how bad can it get????

Because most Americans live in a bubble and have no idea what the rest of the world is like. There are plenty of other advanced nations besides the U.S., but you wouldn't think so when watching American news.
Whoa, wait a minute--nzrugby starts a thread about the United States--for the sole purpose of baiting Americans as always--and people actually oblige?
Come on--there's a multitude of criteria under which a country could be considered the freest on Earth, depending on the measured variables and the agenda of the polling outlet.
This is nothing more than yet another display of nzrugby's masturabatory infatuation with the Commonwealth. Laugh and move on.
