Each kid had some 3 to 11 round shot into them. That was a complete waste of ammo if all you wanted to do was to kill. You would have to shoot some 3 to 4 kids with each 30 round magazine. So a shooter who used a New York legal 7 round mag and knows they are limited and shot each kid with one round can do as much damage with out reloading. So the next insane person who uses a shot gun loaded with 00 buck which is 9 32 caliber balls goes into an un-guarded school you on the left will call and scream for a ban on those horrible evil assault shot guns. Admit it you want all guns and you are like a pack of hyaena's nipping at the weak edges of your pray. Take out the weakest link first then work on the others.

The cops took 20 minutes to respond at SH. 20 freekin' minutes. In that time the shooter could have done far worse with a single shot shotgun. As they say, "when you need help in seconds, the police are minutes away". In this case, 20 minutes.

Just stop right there. Each kid may have had 3-11 wounds, but that does not mean they each received 3-11 distinct rounds. Many of these kids were found in piles... huddled up... trying to hide in closests, bathrooms, etc. But yeah, keep trying to justify the unjustifiable... high capacity magazines are unnecessary.

Last July, mathematics enthusiast Davi Barker published an analysis of 93 mass shootings, and found that the average number of people killed in such shootings when stopped by police is 14.3. The average number of people killed in mass shootings when stopped by a civilian is 2.3

Yep. Police are at a disadvantage to respond to these situations. The harder it is for people to carry a weapon legally the more death we can expect. If a couple teachers or staff had weapons at Sandy Hook it is likely only 2-3 kids would have been killed. Even more likely the shooter would not have gone in there at all.

The LWNJ don't want facts though. Their minds are made up.

These mass shootings are too rare to have the government intrude on our rights and make drastic changes in policy.

What gives you the right to decide what is necessary? Might want to check your ego.

I say it's unecessary to have a vehilcle that goes faster then 25 mph. Doesn't give the govt the right to outlaw them.

If we outlawed everything that was unecessary we wouldn't have much. All that is really necessary is food, shelter and protection. And a gun falls under protection.

Since Columbine less than 400 kids have been shot while at a school. There are 25 million kids at school on any given day.

This idea that school shootings, or mass shootings in general, are a prroblem is nonsense. Government is using it as an excuse to take more control.

Granted, it would be better if none of those kids were shot. But schools are still as safe as anyplace else. Probably safer.

I did not even factor in that I can change a mag in about two seconds. I am not just through out a low amount of time two seconds is what it takes to change a mag. A shot gun shooting 9 32 cal. balls each shot would have done more damage than the AR. All you want is a knee jerk reaction that is a feel good law that makes you feel safe. The SH shooter stole your since of security and you are ticked and want something even. Banning will do Little to nothing to save kids from crazy people. Its like banning cars because some person used one to kidnap your kid. Things like the Amber alert and other fast action plans help. To be aware of what is going on with your kids, to have armed guards and safety procedures in force at all schools. You are the type of person who b itch es about arming pilots as too dangerous but fails to realize that they can turn the plane upside down and put in in the ground. You can not see the forest through the trees.

Thank you for the link. Presenting facts rather than emotional rants will scare off liberals responding to this thread. Facts and liberals are sort of like vampires (not the sparklie kind) and holy water.

Seems like you are more concerned about the bullets than the kids.
