We have hear a lot of talks about gun control, but why is gun control only applied to law abide citizens? Why is the government exempt from the law?

If gun control is for the safety of our children, do you think the government needs to disarm too? I don't feel save when there are people in uniform carrying rifle walking in the street like in the 9/11.

I purpose that gun should be ban for the government too. Yes, this included the police, the military AND the president's body guard.

Gun control supporters, please voice your support.

Why is gun control does not apply to government?

Because government is liberals, at least in their eyes. By definition, they are good. Just ask them.

The little people are bad, and must be disarmed.

Law abiding citizens can only exist if they understand why laws exist and are willing to have a conversation on the subject if they have a disagreement with the law(s). But, before I deflect from the core issue you brought up here any more, government is not an entity separate from the people. It is an agency created and maintained for governance (as in creating and enforcing laws).

Now I assume your issue is really with couple of clauses in Article I of the US Constitution, no?

The military, secret service, etc are trained professionals who know what they're doing, and their weapons are secured when not in use.

On the other hand, the coon hound crowd often has no training, stockpiles weapons and ammunition mindlessly, and allows deranged family members to have access to their arsenals; never mind the fact that they sell their weapons to any and all comers at gun shows with no background check required.

This is the biggest mis-information I have ever heard.

The military are trained to use the weapon for 1 reason, it is to KILLED.

If you believe military are trained professionals who know what they are doing, then gun should not be banned. Why? Because there are a lot of people who have served in this military.

That the military are trained professionals? I'm sure the people around here who are active duty or are veterans would have a thing or two to say about that.

See, this is the problem with so many on this board - you become hysterical and engage in all or nothing thinking. It really does not serve your cause when you respond like that. I never said all guns should be banned. And I'm not worried about most vets having guns. It's the untrained crazies out there who concern me.

Default Questions?

OP -

A couple of questions: What universe are you from and what language are you trying to use?

FWIW - Many law enforcement agencies are not that well armed and have been known to show up at a gang firefight with old 6 shot revolvers. TV police shows with SWAT units are just that: TV shows.

Yeah, these must be the guys behind the 500+ shootings in the "bad parts" of Chicago this year.

Cletus the Latin King shooting Darrel Jo the Gangster Disciple over a coon dog trade gone bad.

Hey, if it helps make you feel better to make up a mythological cause for the root of most of the gun violence, at least this one is entertaining.

Reality however looks a whole lot different.

P.S. This makes about as much sense as blaming the majority of fatal auto crashes on women putting their make-up on.....instead of drugs, alchohol and speeding.

Well, there is an instance when everybody has guns the world is a much nicer place than requiring disciplined and responsible ownership.
