Sen. Kaine says, “Nullification is a code word.”
CNN’s Soledad O’Brien asks, “For what?”
<..Kaine non answer deleted..>
When O’Brien asks him to clarify his ‘code word’ statement, Sen. Kaine answers, “We’ll see what it is. But the notion that we’re going to nullify a presidential action when the President is acting pursuant to law, you know, that’s just kind of this anti-government rhetoric that I’m surprised to hear somebody in government using.”
So in Sen. Kaine mind nullification is a code word for "anti-government rhetoric." Where and when was a racist reference inserted?
it was found in the 'kaine non answer' [] that you conveniently deleted.

Sen. Kaine responds, “It’s a states right argument that gets used in times of great controversy.
states rights is yet another 'code word' now considered 'racist' by the LWNJ.
OK I will insert his non answer that I don't think really addresses what the code word was, which is why O'Brien asked the question again.
Sen. Kaine responds, “It’s a states right argument that gets used in times of great controversy. The President is acting by executive power that is legally conferred on him. And as you pointed out, you went over these executive orders. They’re basic, common sense things.”
Where in that response does Sen. Kaine claim that nullification is a racist term?
So in the theme of this thread when someone on the Left talks about state rights they are using it as a code word for racism?

"anti-government rhetoric." is also considered racist, since obama is half white.
Before he died, GOP strategist Lee Atwater confessed that the infamous Southern Strategy was all about using 'code words', 'dog whistles' and finding other ways of referring to race. Todays republicans have turned that strategy into a science.
Or as someone else put it, “50 years ago you shouted n*gger, 30 years ago you talked about States Rights, now you ask to see the president’s birth certificate.”
“You start out in 1954 by saying, “N*gger, n*gger, n*gger.” By 1968 you can’t say “n*gger”—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states’ rights and all that stuff.” -Lee Atwater
Tim Caine (D, VA) insinuates that Sen Rand Paul's use of the word 'nullification' is racist code. He doesn't quite come out and directly say it (speaking in code?) but that is the obvious upshot. we are piling up quite a collection of these racist code words. Kitchen cabinet MSNBC guest suggests Romney's use of the term 'kitchen cabinet' is racist | The Daily Caller
Any others? Oh yeah, Rush Limbaugh was called racist because he said that sports journalists should not judge player performance based on skin color. Go figure. I guess the very words 'Rush Limbaugh' are probably racist.
Quoth WA Republican Party chair Kirby Wilbur: definition of a bigot: "a conservative who is winning an argument."
Why don't you people, the priveleged ones, shuck and jive, and bring that black cloud of State's rights in to the kitchen cabinet.
That one.
Do it in Chicago, while you are playing golf and discussing nullification!

It’s about time that Republicans quit *****-footing around on the issue of race. They need to point out that in both principle and practice, the Republican Party has a far better record than the Democrats on race. Even more importantly, they need to stress that on the issues that most affect African-Americans today, the Democratic position represents racism of the most offensive sort—a patronizing racism that denigrates Blacks every bit as badly as the old racism of Jim Crow and segregation.
