Here's a list of the commonly used guns used to commit murders/crimes. This provides clarity on which guns are actully the problem in gun crimes. This list is from 2002 but I don't think much has changed with this list.

Quote:

1. Smith and Wesson .38 revolver
2. Ruger 9 mm semiautomatic
3. Lorcin Engineering .380 semiautomatic
4. Raven Arms .25 semiautomatic
5. Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun
6. Smith and Wesson 9mm semiautomatic
7. Smith and Wesson .357 revolver
8. Bryco Arms 9mm semiautomatic
9. Bryco Arms .380 semiautomatic
10. Davis Industries .380 semiautomatic

many of these are cheap and easy access guns, the Saturday Night Specials. That isn't exactly a fair representation.

Perhaps the Saturday Night Specials need to be included. or make them cost $1000 so you can reduce the number in the hands of youthful offenders.

So what. Not one of those weapons has ever killed anyone without a person pulling the trigger.

No. There are two revolvers, one shotgun, and the rest are semi-automatic pistols. Not a single assault weapon among them.

Man, what a list of junk autos (excepting Smith and Ruger)! Actually I'm surprised there are no .22s on the list.

The data is from 2000. Plenty of time for things to have changed (if they did change, I have no idea, but 12 years is a long time).

The only one that should be on that list is "the gun a criminal can easily get their hands on". End of list.

It doesn't matter what kind it is or how many bullets it holds. It only matters if the one holding it has murderous intent.

The funny part about the proposed ban is that the round fired by an AR-15 is the same size as a .22.

Cost does not matter, when close to 500 guns are stolen on a daily basis.
