This isn't really a surprise, except possibly to liberals who are always surprised by reality. Minorities almost always do worse under liberal administrations. Obama's is merely the most liberal.

NAACP President Ben Jealous: Black People “Are Doing Far Worse” Under Obama Administration

Jan 29, 2013
By NewsOne Staff

In an interview with David Gregory on Meet The Press, NAACP President Ben Jealous said that Black Americans “are doing far worse” under the Obama Administration than when the president first took office, reports The Washington Times.

“The country’s back to pretty much where it was when this president started,” said Jealous.“White people in this country are doing a bit better. Black people are doing far worse.”

The black unemployment rate was 12.7 percent when Mr. Obama took office. While the unemployment rate in the U.S. as a whole is below 8 percent, the Labor Department reported the black jobless rate was up from 12.9 percent to 14 percent for December.

The worst during Mr Obama’s first term was in September 2011, with 16.7 percent unemployment for blacks — the highest since 1983, the Department of Labor reports. The black teen jobless rate hit a staggering 39.3 percent in July 2012.

While vocal Obama critics, Tavis Smiley and Dr. Cornel West, have 0ften been accused of being egoistical, attention seekers who “hate on” the POTUS when they insist that Black voters put pressure on him, Rev. Al Sharpton and the National Urban League are now following their lead, pushing for President Obama to present an urban jobs plan at his State of the Union address on Feb. 12.

So much of our economy is worse now then it was in 2008.

Look at world foreign relations, and the state of affairs in the Mid East. Everything is worse.

Sharpton clearly is not getting it, Obama IS the government, and yet Sharpton is asking Obama to fix things? Obama's policies have already fixed things, "we tried my plan, and it worked."

So?? What, exactly should blacks do about this? Blame Obama? Bury him? I won't. For one thing, I don't really believe Romney would have made things any better for blacks. Blacks are the go to scapegoat whenever things get tough, and I think we can all agree that things have been very tough recently. Jealous is one of those successful, Conservative, colored people, who secretly or not, sympathize with right wing Republican values. He isn't doing worse under Obama. Most blacks that matter to him are not doing worse under Obama. He is hating... himself for not being white enough to be accepted without apology by the party of self-determination. He is just about intelligent enough to know that self-determination requires a level playing field. The constant disconnect between reality and his ideals cannot be doing good things for his blood pressure. Must really suck to be a Black Conservative.

Then why did this NAACP president say that most people are doing better, while blacks are doing worse?

Blacks have done worse then anyone else no matter who was president. I'm Black, and I struggled to get a job under the Bush administration, and I struggle to get a job. To me, it doesn't matter to me who the president is.

I can't wait for you to call Sharpton and Cornell West black conservatives next because they dared to pressure Obama on an issue that is important to them.

Nobody is saying "we should have voted for Romney" they just want more attention from a voting demographic which has been taken for granted by the administration.

...and the minute they dared utter a single peep of discontent on a single topic....you start saying they are trying to act white, they are conservatives etc etc? He's the freakin' head of the NAACP or did you miss that?

It's a bit entertaining how you're spinning this. Jealous specifically called on congress, and especially House republicans, to join Obama in aiding black unemployment, in the very same statement. But somehow, that part gets dropped.

I'm black and life is actually better for me? Is that because of Obama? I'd like to think it's because of my hard work. Not all black people are suffering.
