Funny you mention high schoolers, i remember coaching my son on proper tipping when he started going to restaurants with his buddies and dates.

Note sure who qualifies as a "Jesus Freak" in your book so I have noting to offer there.

American Blacks are rumored to be notoriously low tippers. There have been threads on it.

Even jokes about it on young adult oriented FM radio stations.

If service is good, one tips. If service is okay, one usually tips. If service is bad, one usually tips BUT they should not. It has nothing to do with being a good Christian.

I've been in the hospitality business for several years and I've seen the tip behavior. Generally, but not always true, it is this:

Church groups: less than 10%
Europeans: Nothing
Blacks: less than 5%
Hispanics: less than 10%
Whites: 15 - 20%
Gays - 20%
Over 65 - 10%
White Collar - 20%
Blue Collar - 10 -15%
Restaurant experienced - greater than 20%
Men in groups - 20%
Women in groups - separate checks - 10%
Parties of 8 or more - standard is 18% required - servers are often brought in just for this party - if the party decides on separate checks - 20% required for each person - don't pay? call the law!

that pastor has a church of 15-probably her immediate family.

it is too bad that she insisted that the server be fired, and too bad that applebee's complied -as the waitress said that she was saving money for college.

applebee's won't be seeing me anytime soon.

An employee who spreads a customer's private information over the internet should be terminated,.....no matter what the circumstance.

Poor judgment on all parties concerned, but spreading a customer's personal info on the net is a firing offense.

That is probably true. I don't know why Christians are always so pissed off when they come out of church. If church makes you miserable, stay home and watch Jimmy Swaggert or one of those guys. Or stay home and have a cold beer and BBQ. That is what I do!

Another FAIL from liberals.

I think she's a pastor only in her own mind.
In the world of Protestant Christianity, anybody can be a preacher. You don't need anything more than the ability to deliver a half good sermon and if you don't want to write your own, you can get one off the internet.

15 member church? Sounds like a nice little tax break to me.
And the lady needs to write about things she knows about, fasting is obviously not one of them.
Surprised Oprah hasn't made a move on this yet.

Yes she was. And blacks generally are sucky ass tippers. My sister waited tables for 2 years at IHOP and she will tell you that. She told me that, even the black waitresses did not want black customers to sit down in their stations. She said that, when they walk in, all the waitresses black and white would pray to God that they didn't get stuck with them.
