I am sure those jobs would be better suited in another state.

Good for Remington, and I hope like hell that my state is one working to bring them in. Now if we can get Kimber to say pizz on Yonkers... Anyone know if Ithica Gun is still taking air?

Illinois would be another good one to bail from. IIRC several evil black rifle companies (Armalite and DSA) are there, as well as Springfield Armory.

The good news is that our local business development group is also trying to entice Remington. They would go well with Buck Knives (who moved here from CA a few years ago) and our new Cabelas!

Bad move. Without Remington in NY, NY congressmen will have no reason to listen to the NRA. Given it's already a deep blue state with a large delegation, this would be enough to let gun control legislation pass.

Be careful for what you wish for.

I would think taxes would be more of a reason to leave than not being able to produce assault weapons. I recall North Carolina having similar issues due to tobacco laws, public health comes first.

So you are saying that NY is against manufacturing jobs? Those are the middle-class jobs that every politican covets. These are SKILLED jobs.
