Poor Dr. Carson definitely will be in the liberal crosshairs for leaving the liberal plantation. How dare of him not to be an Uncle Tom for the liberals!

The whole Dr. Carson thing with conservatives is that if Dr. Carson started sharing more of his ideas and many would inevitably contradict their ideas they'd turn on him.

It is all about race. Dr. Carson is a black man whom they believe is criticizing President Obama and putting him in his place.

It is sick. And again, I will point out again his idea of health savings accounts in which the government from the time of a poor person's birth puts money into that individual poor person's account is extremely big government. I don't care how anyone tries to pretend, that is huge government beyond anything so called Obamacare is proposing.

conservatives don't care about policy, so they'll focus on the words health savings accounts which they supposedly support, but ignore the clearly stated idea of the government putting money in those accounts for poor people from birth which is a huge expansion of government.

That plan, that I bolded, is essentially Medicare for all. I am glad the the right has finally come around to a sensible health insurance system.

Ben Carson is a brilliant neurosurgeon, but when it comes to public policy or economics he is no more informed or insightful than any other politicized celebrity or public figure.

I know if they think that the Democratic party or President Obama would be against creating health savings accounts with the government putting money in from birth for poor people they are insane.

I don't see how conservatives can't see this as a huge expansion of government, like you said sort of a medicare for all thing.

No all they see is Dr. Ben Carson a deeply religious black man who seems to not completely agree with President Obama on certain policies and they are attempting to use him for very cynical purposes.

Only we're paying the premiums as well as our own.

Exactly, that is one of the things that is wrong with American policy discussions. Surely everyone has a right to their opinion, and I respect Dr. Carson a great deal, but some of the things he says are just flat out wrong from an empirical standpoint.

I saw that Hannity interview where is spoke so lovingly about his mom and her not wanting to go on welfare because she observed that people who go on welfare never come off of it.

While I can appreciate his moms work ethic, that opinion that those who go on welfare stay on it forever is just flat out false, and has always been false.

In fact, the vast overwhelming majority of those on welfare were off within 5 years.

So if you are thinking about public policy concerning welfare and it is based on just garbage information, then your solution to that issue will be garbage as well.

All you've done is post your opinions as if they're facts.

A health savings account has nothing to do with the government. An HSA allows you to purchase a high deductable HCP and use the HSA as a savings account to fund the deductable. You can even withdraw your savings as you would from a 401k or IRA. The government doesn't put money in those accounts, they are only tax deferred.

Rendering the rest of your rant, obsolete.
