You mean right wingers actually helped the left wings' darlings Apple, Immelt's GE, any corporation that makes the electronics left wingers think they're so trendy for using, etc.? Interesting point.

Unless you're buying/using not one single item manufactured overseas, YOU'RE part of the problem.

Liberal: Here, I can give you student loans that you most likely can't pay back at credit card level interest rates. If you don't go to college you can't succeed.

18-year old: Well, what should I major in?

Liberal: How about sociology or gender studies, then you can become an electrician and pay the government back when you're done with your 4 year degree.

I know for a fact because one of our former clients was the liberal Philadelphia Housing Authority who in conjunction with the liberal trade unions developed a program to teach people in public housing to be painters, carpenters, and electricians to assist their clients to find meaningful employment in the building trades. Another client, the uber liberal Iron workers has an extensive program to teach just the people you mentioned how to be structural steel workers. So spare us the unfounded rant.

If anything, the push to get kids in college is a recognition that a college degree is what the private sector demands, not liberals, not conservatives, but what the freaking market demands and has demanded for decades.

Great article from the New York Times. Even a $10/hour job as a document runner for this law firm requires a college degree now. All of this thanks to degree inflation, or shall I call it degree water down. All because liberals think everyone has the right to go to college. If one tries to even insinuate that maybe college might not be right for everyone. they throw a hissy fit.
I know a lot of liberals who do not believe everyone should attend college.

You mean like Clinton, Biden and Kerry?

Well, I'm sure the head of Obama's jobs council will get right on that. Oh wait, that's Jeff Immelt of General Electric.

It's like you aren't even able to process reality.

Also, liberals, why does "education" to you need to be in the form of 4-year college degree?
Especially in this day and age...I mean, all of the "general knowledge" that college was good for can be found online....hell, you can listen to some of the greatest minds ever just by going on to youtube.

Yup, and conservative ''culture wars'' memes like the notion of ''educated elites'' ain't helping either...

I agree, the entire premise is just a "blame liberals" red herring. I have many highly successful relatives and friends that never went to college and never soaked up 80k in debt along the way.

+1 for hitting that one out of the park.

Uh oh, does that make me a lefty now? I just spent last week being called a righty.

No, it's the right wingers. I just posted the link to the bill the democrats brought to the table to stop offshoring that the greedy right wingers shot down on the previous page.

The GOP hates the working man with a passion.

While I agree with the general premise of the article, this is just insane.

How are you going to pay over $100,000 for a degree in "fashion"? The only way I owe $100,000 to any school is if it's a med school and I became a doctor. Heck, even if it was law I'd have to have offers for scholarships or something...or a guaranteed job during and after it so that I come away from the deal on the better side of $100,000. Even $50,000 is too much, I'd snap....
