CPAC is the big Conservative confab. Thise year the conference is bracketed by Sarah Palin and freshman Senator Teddy Cruz:

Ted Cruz to be closing speaker at CPAC conference packed with conservative stars | Texas on the Potomac | a Chron.com blog

....and these folks too:

Other high-profile speakers at the convention include former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., Rep Paul Ryan, R-Wisc, NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker
.

Looks like CPAC will be a good round-up of the current & future faces of the GOP. Rubio is being disccussed as a prospect for the 2016 GOP primaries.

The GOP needs less of Ted Cruz and more of Tom Coburn.

We don't need constant war, but we don't need to let anyone else fill the vacuum if the USA pulls back. Ron Paul is weak on foreign policy. Graham and McCain are wrong on foreign policy.

Ron Paul is right on a few things, but returning to the gold standard, competing currencies, and getting rid of the Fed is loony. This isn't the 1800's anymore and returning to economic theories from then won't bring the country more prosperity.
