That $21K bill for heartburn will still be $21K. Obamacare did nothing about costs.
Abolutely true.
Congress does not allow government to negotiate drug prices and so the government and people pay more than they do anywhere else in the developed world.
Obama's push for an objective comparative effectiveness review of procedures and medications was not embraced by Congress. The is the source of the so-called death panels- nothing more than protecting and sustaining the healthcare lobby.
When pill /procedure A is objectively evaluatd and found to have the same outcomes as B, why are Mds ordering the more costly pill/procedure? How many of these MDs/hospitals are consultants to big pharm and medical equipment manufacturers?
Enabling and protecting big pharm and equipment manufacturers is about as bi-partisan as it gets in Congress.
Full benefits of Obamacare don't kick in until Jan 1 2014, but we are already paying for it, in advance. Open enrollments don't start until October of this year.

With the caps and limits gone what do you think will happen ?
Do health insurance companies have unlimited funds ?
Well of course they don't. Premiums have generally been increasing for decades with no end in sight. The healthcare industry is rigged to protect and sustain itself.
The enormous profits made by the giant nonprofit hospitals are being used to gobble up the competition and medical practices and reduce competition. In other industries, this would face anti-trust laws. Not so in healthcare.A cancer diagnosis usually results in a $1 million bill, over time, multiples of what it costs in other developed nations with equal or better outcomes.
Agreed. And Obama did NOTHING to change that scenario. So he did nothing tangible to push for single payer system. He sold out to the same industries the Republicans were selling out to.
No argument from me.
He did make an attempt to create comparative effectiveness panels to objectively evaluate medications and procedures and when outcomes are equal recommend the less costly medication/procedure be used. Congress went nuts and deemed them " death panels".
When an industry, such as healthcare, makes a $5.365 billion investment in lobbying Congress, they expect a return on their investment. Then there's the political donations to candidates, pacs and super pacs. Parties nominate the candidate that has the proven ability to do one thing better than the rest, fund raising for the party.

Obama said premiums would decrease 3000%.
Certainly not partisan hogwash.
The video is out there with him saying those very words.
More like a case of partisan amnesia ?
3000% reduction in premiums?
National healthcare has the potential to significantly reduce the costs of healthcare and put them in line with other developed countries who achieve equal or better outcomes than the U.S. does. What's necessary is to take the gloves off as it relates to laws that were designed to create and sustain a seller's market for the healthcare industry. Congress, regardless of who is in the majority, has no interest in biting the hand that feeds them while costing the government and uninsured/underinsured people an arm and a leg.
Makes sense from an employer's perspective, spousal coverage tends to be more expensive and with other options available companies won't feel the need to cover spouses.
Reminds me of another post in the forum boasting of how the cost of insurance coverage has dropped.
Yeah, it cost a company a hell of a lot less to insure the employee while dropping the rest of his/her family from coverage.
Good going Nancy... yes, corporations are people. AND they can read, obviously unlike yourself.
