They don't understand 1/2 of what they pass and they don't read 90% of what they pass either. Staffers just give them a break down of what it is supposed to do.
Here is Carolyn Mcarthy talking about a gun bill. Part of the ban is for a heat shroud. When asked by the commentator what a heat shroud is and why it is so deadly she described it as the "shoulder thing that goes up." She doesn't know what she is trying to ban.
I don't give a **** how long that bill is, read every damn page. The congressmen ARE the system.
That is also why each Congressman has a team of people working for them. These things get read, but it is usually some poor bastard interns that are reading them.

Sounds like you need to write your Congressman. I am sure you are just venting over something, but you will not find the answer you are looking for on this forum.
