When one promotes policy which-

1. increases personal income tax

2. increases corporate taxes

3. adds an additional multi-trillion dollar entitlement like Obamacare

4. fails to develop energy resources on federal land

5. increases EPA regulations

..................... one can expect declines in personal income and wealth. It would be like watering plants with "clorox" and expecting them to grow!

The Obama apologists will NEVER blame Obama for anything. How was Reagan able to DRAMATICALLY turn the economy around in 3-4 years, while Obama has failed? The Obama cultists just cannot face the facts.

Wake up! The economy will remain terrible and wages will continue to erode under Obama, as his policies create an environment which is hostile to business and personal prosperity. This is what 'fundamentally changing" America means- more poverty and more economic misery.

You voted for it- you own it.
Did you even read the article that you linked in the OP?

Disposable income, or the money left over after taxes, dropped 4 percent after adjusting for inflation, the biggest plunge since monthly records began in 1959. The drop also reflected the lapse of the payroll tax holiday. Excluding the effect of the tax and other special factors such as the timing of bonuses and dividends, disposable personal income would have increased 0.3 percent in January, the same as in December, the report said.

The economy Reagan inherited was in much better shape than the economy Obama inherited, any comparisons between the recoveries are therefore problematic.

So if you don't like the narrower measure of employment, why not look at a wider measure which just like the narrower measure shows an improving employment situation.

We have had our employee benefits become more common, these have been given to employees in lieu of wage increases. Thirty years ago people were not getting the level of benefits thru health care insurance, dental insurance, retirement pensions, and 401K contributions. That money going to your 401K does not count as a wage, neither does the potion of insurance and pension plans donated by your employer.

Welcome to the new era of world economics. We no longer have small corporations which only operate in a single county or state, they are global now, which means the people at the top get paid higher wages.

We now have global competition, something that was on a much smaller scale thirty years ago. The best and brightest managers and executives no longer have to settle for what a small one state corporation can pay him, he can go to a rich country like China and get real money. If US corporations will only pay $1 million annual salary, then the best and brightest will go elsewhere.

I suspect you don't live in the USA, nor that your language at birth was English. I say that because there's no other reason I can think of for your lack of comprehension of the economy of the nation, our political system or form of government. I'm tempted to break-out a new supply of 'tin foil' hats and pass one along to you.

Get over it. Corporations are allowed to make profits. This is the American way - it you don't like it why don't you move to a place where the Government will take care of you for the rest of your life. It is not in the USA.

Not a doubt in my mind that this President will go down in history as one of America's worst. With every new economic indicator....with every class warfare pitch.....with every new regulation.....with every increase in gas prices....with every tick upward of the unemployment rate....with every "you didn't build that" attitude he displays.......with every penny of debt that he adds........with every entrenched ideological position he takes.....with every refusal to compromise position he assumes........ this President slowly but surely digs a hole far deeper than his legacy could ever climb out of. Indeed, Obamacare will not be the savior of this President. That's too bad, because it's clear that he thought it would.

The totality of circumstances will doom this President.

Isn't that the truth. The morons on this site who think that Corporations should not be allowed to make a profit should go to a country where the Government will take care of them forever and ever - they don't deserve to live here in the USA. They are certainly not very smart.
