It's like you get a pay cut and you stop paying your mortgage but continue paying your cell phone and internet and cable bills and go out to dinner every night.
Is this how the Democrats handle budget cuts ..essential services first ?
Because obama will get the most mileage out of his scare tactics and doomsaying if he goes for the necessary services.
What is scary about cutting the janitorial services to 2 days a week instead of every day?
Nothing.
What is scary about asking workers to empty their own waste baskets?
Nothing.
What is frightening about washing windows monthly instead of weekly?
Nothing.
It is simply psychological warfare on the American People; nothing more, nothing less.
hard to back down from the threats you make when in the public eye and not loose credibility. Already said it but this was Obama's big mistake and it is backfiring in his face.

The whole purpose was to set up a punishment in case they didn't get the job done: hit 'em where it hurts. But, since Democrats are seemingly incapable of passing a budget, Obama's little punishment plan backfired.

The sequester deal spells out the cuts - equally between defense and non-defense. Pensions, social security, Veterans Affairs and some other programs were explicitly exempt. Democrats and Republicans voted for it, the idea being that the cuts would be so onerous that both sides would make a deal to stop them going through, but Republicans wouldn't budge from their not-a-cent-in-new-taxes stance and Democrats wouldn't go for the Republicans deep cuts-only approach.
The fact remains that Obama and all of his department headshas total flexibility to direct where these cuts will take place as numerous media outlets have reported for months, so any cuts to essential services will be HIS fault and nobody else's.
Of course he has a thoroughly corrupt liberal media to protect his 'reputation', whatever's left of it; they've been trying to scare the hell out of everybody regarding how 'draconian' these cuts, when nothing could be further from the truth.
But when you have a scandal addicted media whose 'standards' rank somewhere between TMZ and Jerry Springer, what else would you expect?
Too bad the cuts are not 100% defense cuts, but some are better than none. Just because Republicans refuse to allow a tax increase on the uber wealthy, the GOP has led us to sequestration.
Kudos to Pres. Obama for not backing down. Republicans are 100% responsible.

It's not backfiring at all since the majority of people are blaming republicans for this mess.
