Very well done illustration. Unfortunately, the sedation of a vast majority of the population by mass media conditioning agents, and the distraction from this type of data by a barrage of banality on a regular basis seems to be working.
Not enough focused dialogue on the construct of our current business - economic - financial systems that lead to this growing bifurcation of have$$ versus have nots without it being co-opted by the hegemonic interests of those holding the power i.e. 'he who has the gold makes the rules'.

Another problem is that the fellows at the top, those can't even fit on the chart anymore, keep the population not just distracted, but also extremely busy and extremely psychologically isolated from fellow humans.
People work more and faster - all while producing increasingly irrelevant, useless "work". They have less and less time to sit, rest, hear themselves think, and bond with others like themselves.
In a society that no longer needs to produce NECESSITIES of life because machines produce them - a population who is not kept very busy, very tired and VERY MUCH running all the time, could turn dangerous by starting to notice.
Except that the "wealth inequality" doesn't arise so much thrpugh the direct actions of the people who founded the institutions representing that wealth, but through the foibles and insecurities of the mass market, most members of which are far too easliy-led and easily-manipulated. My local paper has a lead story today of Pennsylvania's three new billionaires (that's billion, with a 'b') The enterprises run by all of the three (Yuengling Brewery -- now headed by a woman), Erie Insurance, and Dick's Sporting Goods all started as family-run enterprises.
But to the typical posturing Lefty, and the pointing, grunting few he/she seeks to impress and manipulate, the old top-hat-and-spats image is still a good sell. And they claim that conservatives are more prone to the tactic of stereotyping?
