We have to keep an eye on Obama and let him know how we feel. Especially about Social Security and medicare. The fact he is having dinners and lunch with right wing fanatical Republicans bothers me greatly. It makes me think we are about to get screwed big time. If there is one thing the parties can all agree on, it is screwing the working people. We must not allow this to happen.

I understand your point of view.

Although I did vote for Mr. Obama in November, I never forget that all politicians - liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican - are capable of being unreliable, sleazy, and dishonest. It's almost one of the requirements of the job.

Everyone is always so focused on the Office of the President when it's really Congress that we need to worry about.

The ONLY thing that I like about Obama is that he will not pack the SCOTUS with a bunch of right wing fascists and he come out publicly in favor of gay rights when prompted by Biden. Otherwise, he has not reversed any of the attacks on civil liberties that were hoisted on us by the Bush administration and is now publicly stating that he would modify SS and Medicare, specifically use of the "chained CPI", which would reduce benefits.

Well, I worry what those idiots will do next, but I, too, feel betrayed by Obama. He's giving in to the Republicans when he has a mandate to do anything but.

As others have noted, NO politician is squeaky clean. They have to go through a huge amount of mud and slime and brokered deals with the special interests that pay for the campaign funds to get into office on the national level. It's pretty sad, but I don't think a person of integrity can make it into office these days.

I personally don't trust ignorant people. For example, people who think that mortgage rates being low is something to cheer about with regard to Obama and the economy are clueless and the reason why we have 4 more years of the Epic Failure In Chief in office. Failures like Obama can always count on these sheeple to vote for them every time.

You know, making SS and Medicare sustainable so that the programs will be there for future generations ought not to be a 'liberal/conservative' or 'republican/democrat' divide. It is more of a 'pragmatists versus morons' kind of thing. And the civil liberties thing, well, if you thought Bush was bad about that, you ought to really hate Obama. Just my opinions, it is a free country, you can think and say what you like (still.)

Obama came into his office as a very dishonest man and he's only gotten worse.

Who knew Republicans were playing hard to get? A few fancy dinners, some wine, and they are ready to be bed by Obama

I feel the same way. Simply put, the alternative (Romney) was just so much worse.

Obama is too damn far to the right for my taste.

I'll say this though...I'm willing to go along with painful entitlement cuts so long as the pain is spread out somewhat equally.
