This is stupid,but I'm taking a guess and I say because for some,being obese makes them look more manly?

Obama has allocated $1.5 million to research this "problem". It may cost several million more before they have an answer, so you will just have to wait for the results. Maybe Michelle got tired of looking at Janet slowly expand since joining the administration??
Seems this is a program that won't be getting cut. I guess this takes a priority over other programs that are actually needed and will be subject to cuts.
Most homos seem thin and well groomed. Why not the lesbians?
Because most lesbians are too busy drinkin beer, and driving trucks to get any REAL exercise. Gay men OTOH, are obsessed with their appearance because of the possibility of new dates.

(CNSNews.com) – The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded $1.5 million to study biological and social factors for why “three-quarters” of lesbians are obese and why gay males are not, calling it an issue of “high public-health significance."
Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., has received two grants administered by NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) to study the relationship between sexual orientation and obesity.

I didn't know lesbians were generally overweight.
And, I really don't care.
I have absolutely nothing invested in the "problem".
I have enough of a problem with my own weight, the weight of anybody else is THEIR problem!
