Airstikes on Assad's regime. Support the most moderate faction in the rebel organization and build some sense of stability. It shouldn't be US led, but should involve those in the neighborhood. That seems to be where things are heading.

Just some examples.

In the Israel-Palestine conflict: All or almost all the Christians are Arabs.
In the Israel Lebanon conflicts: All or almost all the Christians were on the Lebanese side.
In the Syrian occupation of Lebanon all or most of the Christians were on the Lebanese side.
In the Iraq war many of the Christians, particularly in southern Iraq preferred Saddam's secular government to what the Shia Clerics would do to them.
In Syria Assad has the support of a good deal of the Christian community because they are afraid of The Society of Muslim Brothers getting power in Syria.

It is every single time.

They are afraid to call it what it is... and has been for centuries.
It is nothing but a Holy War. The crusades all over again.

To what end, though? That might have a way of empowering the factions described in this article from today:

Syria's Shiites offer different picture of war - Shiite Muslims who fled Syria for Lebanon tell of an 'ethnic cleansing' campaign by rebels intent on creating a Sunni-run Islamic state - LA Times

Quote:
Jamal and others interviewed here said Sunni rebels, many of them from neighboring villages, have attacked Shiites, chasing people from their homes and in some cases shelling and setting fire to their enclaves. Standing at the irrigation canal, another militiaman showed a reporter a grisly cellphone video in which a man said to be a Syrian rebel appears to use a machete to decapitate a captive.

You would think that if it was a Holy War. The GOP might pick the Christian side once in a while.

Pretty much this. However, I don't think we cannot help but get involved at some point. Right now we are waiting to see which way the wind blows and are figuring out which rebel faction we need to be tactically supporting. If and when we do intervene it will be in a support role to the Turks. This is their backyard and the US has an interest in elevating them as a regional power above Iran.

This conflict is much bigger than just getting rid of Assad.

Because we are so diverse in our beliefs, we are kept in the dark, or cannot fathom, it is about religion.
Not on our part, but the Muslim world. Our lifestyle and actual individual freedom, go against the Muslim religion.
The message of liberty is very powerful. Look how freedom of all kinds, are severely punished under Muslim rule. They fear loosing control of the people, through control of the religion, being lost to liberty.

Muslims feel if you are white, you are descendents of Jewish, no matter what you may or may not believe.

I cannot agree with that. It depends on the types Muslims and where you are. In Saudi Arabia it is totally correct. In other places like Turkey, and Indonesia it is often very different. With that said I doubt I would be free to openly practice my religion in any Muslim country.

This is completely false and demonstrably so. Perhaps you are confusing 1.6 billion Muslims with the black racist "Nation of Islam", which numbers less than 50,000.

Traditional Islam is one of the few world religions that explicitly repudiates racial categories. Anyone who's ever read the Autobiography of Malcolm X would be aware of this.

The CIA is already active in training the rebels who are a mish-mash of Brotherhood, Taliban and Al Queda.

Here we go again.

Let's see; I'm a Haliburton, Blackwater whatever contractor so what I'll do is throw some money into a campaign empowering rebellion somewhere. Wait for the pot to boil then jump in providing security, training and any number of things for a price, get richer by the minute while all of the terrorist org's in the region swarm in to exert their influence and become part of the resulting leadership due to the power vacuum.

Seem like a plausible scenario? Libya not teach us anything at all?
