New Orleans is more than her city limits but her entire metropolitan area. The entire metropolitan area, like most Southern metropolitan areas (Atlanta, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth as opposed to Miami or DC which did not) went Republican.

Probably because of the suburbs. Now tell me, is the gun violence in the suburbs, or in the city of New Orleans?
I agree. I am not allowed to own a gun according to the federal government but according to the state I committed a "crime" in I am allowed to. So I just ignore what the feds say.I can apply for my "rights" back since they seem to think they have the right to take my rights from me but that part of the government isn't funded anymore so why bother.
Why not? If they served their time and are released to society they have every right to defend themselves. Are you telling me someone loses their right to defend themselves because they once committed a violent felony?
In reality, if you think they're still a danger to society, you shouldn't be releasing them. But once released, they have every right to own a gun.
Last I checked, isn't that where 80% of violent crime happens?
Considering places with a heavy concentration of Democratic voters tend to have high crime rates, I'm going to say your assessment is probably pretty accurate.

True.
And if they are going to commit violence after they are released then they will do so. Doesn't matter if they own a state-approved gun or not. They should be allowed to vote also. After they are released.
A friend of mine was convicted of vehicular manslaughter 15 years ago. Did his tme. Has never even got as much as a jaywalking ticket since. But he aint allowed to own a gun or vote. But he's allowed to drive. lols. Makes about as much sense as lug nuts on a doughnut.
