I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say it's unintentional, but the misinformation is offensive.
The ad advocates a "plan for growth" of USPS!
Snail mail volume is off more than 50%, a trend that will only continue in today's digital world. And 2/3rds of what we get is UNWELCOME junk mail, a waste of resources on several levels. Asking to grow a service that is becoming obsolete makes as much sense as encouraging buggywhips & blacksmiths with the advent of mass production cars. What are we going to do, start writing letters again (vs email/text) or invite more junk mail?
The letter carriers and others continue to try to place blame on prefunding retirement.
While that might have been a legitimate debate at one time, USPS would have run a loss in each of the last 4 years without ANY retirement prefunding at all. It's a matter of public record, there's no excuse for the letter carriers to claim they don't know that after 4 years.
In polls I've seen 70-80% of Americans support ending Saturday delivery.
The private sector has had to adapt to change driven by the marketplace, which has meant millions of layoffs in many industries for decades. This is a case where clearly the public sector must do the same. Trying to revive USPS may help letter carriers, but it's not in the best interests of the entire population.
If our Congressional leaders can't face up to this obvious reform, there's little hope...
Just shut up and buy their stamps. They deserve a good paying job, pension and no comments by people that don't know what their talking about. Mind your own business. The government knows what is best for you!

USPS's plan for growth is not focused around 1st-3rd class mail, it's based upon increasing their parcel deliveries.
Plan? There is no plan. The plan was to save $2 billion by cutting out Saturdays and even then they were still in trouble. They are hopeless and always will be unless there are drastic changes.
