Why would you purposefully lie about the numbers involved?

"Protesters clash with police in Paris on Sunday as thousands join a demonstration against government plans to legalise gay marriage. Police fire tear gas after a group of youths try to push past barricades."

But thanks for drawing our attention to this good news:

"President François Hollande's 'marriage for everyone' bill was approved by the lower house in February, and the senate will vote on it next month."

I have no problem with with the marriage. Its the benefits, pensions and the like that I find to be the objection. That is to say a spouse collects social security benefits. I have no problem with it if children are involved since there is often a cost one partner takes which damages their career. Thus it should be considered a union.

So let's make marriage only legal for couples that have children, or give them a time limit to have or adopt children or their marriage is nullified.
I would just make benefits apply to couples with children.
