i didn't say it was a defense; we're just trying to establish the relevant facts.

the fact that this could have been vetoed is common sense, it doesn't tell us anything about why it wasn't.

right now the cockroaches are scurrying to hide under the cracks... nobody is fessing up to having knowledge of this.

If it's not an attempt at a defense there is no reason to mention it. Either way they would be wrong. If you vote for something bad or vote for something that you didn't read is wrong no matter what.

if the goal is to figure out what is going on, then there's a reason to mention it.

This is what happens when the powers that be get the people focused on issues that have nothing to do with their everyday lives, like gay marriage, to distract them from the real issues that effect our health, standard of life, and overall well-being.

you anti-GMO people are hilarious. Watching the conspiratorial nutjobs waging a sham war against monsanto and their diabolical plan to destroy the earth never gets old.

Right, from what I take from that is:

A) Harry Reid's (D) name being on the bill has nothing to do with the Monsanto rider, nor does Richard Shelby's (R). They didn't write the Monsanto rider.

B) The (D) from Montana, Tester, is the only one who knows what the hell is going on

C) The (D) from Maryland, Mikulski, doesn't really acknowledge any point Tester makes, she just says, "First of all, I know the Senator has been waiting patiently to file his amendment. I have been waiting patiently for him to be able to do it. As I understand it, we are trying to negotiate a sequence to vote on the Harkin amendment and for the Senator to be able to offer his amendment as promptly as swiftly as we can."

Which is either corrupt, or perhaps doesn't understand the ramifications of what Tester had just said, it's not clear which.

and

D) Nobody knows for sure who added this rider, and nobody fesses up to supporting it, but it is alleged to be Missouri (R) Roy Blunt.

Yeah..they ignored Tester and moved right to McCain who did his "we need more money for defense" speel as always.

So no one admits to adding it, no one knows who added it, no one read about it but Tester and when he spoke they didn't even acknowledge the amendment. The Agricultural committee didn't know about it.

Yet..somehow these words got added, approved and signed into law.

And Congress throws its hands up claiming ignorance. Well why the hell doesn't Congress submit an amendment to that bill removing Section 735 ?

This is how our government works ? Words "magically" appear in bills that get passed and signed and they claim ignorance and shrug their shoulders and move on to the next hot item ? Like they're not responsible for what got passed into law.

Obama betrays America yet again by signing the 'Monsanto Protection Act' into law
The author of your source does not even realize that our debt was caused by a (for nothing) Iraq war, and tax cuts like these.

Romney's Economic Plan Includes $6.6 Trillion Tax Cut For The Rich And Corporations | ThinkProgress

If the author of a source is not smart enough to understand economics should we believe anything he says?

And its so damn insane how you republicans attack democrats for things that republicans do 1000x worse. Your just attacking Obama and in the process your going into a fantasy world, because republicans do 1000x more favors for corporations than democrats do. Look at the ($6.6 trillion dollar) corporate favor in the above link, but since its a republican doing it, its 100% ok.
