Alcohol is a widely regulated product nationwide - with many arcane laws. Texas does allow beer and wine sales on Sunday.

But this hardly impacts the daily life of many in the grand scheme of "freedom."

NH-- One of the top 5 in freedom? You've GOT to be kidding.

The lower 1/2 of NH is nothing more than Massachusetts with super-high property taxes. This state is NOTHING like the state I grew up in 40 years ago, where we had Town Meetings to limit the idiotic overspending of liberal politicians.

Ever since all the Ma**holes fled here after ruining their own state, and Town Managers given ultimate power to make all the decisions and spend money like drunken Washington politicians, this state has been a lost cause.

If NH really is one of the 5 most "free" states, then God help this country. We've forgotten what freedom is.

I don't think this indicator is as accurate as one would like to think. In my eyes, the state of Washington would be freer than Georgia. In Washington state, marijuana laws are alot more relaxed compared to Georgia. Seattle has some of the nation's most lenient gun laws.

Pretty much what I predicted. Still makes me feel a (very little) bit better about moving from NY to ME.

A.) It was a joke.

B.) You can buy beer and wine here but only in areas where the sale of it is allowed, and up until recently most of Dallas was excluded from that. Even now, you cannot buy them until noon on Sunday, presumably because you should be at church prior to that anyway.
