right now, all across the country, we are seeing changes in our government and way of life. with new laws like the patriot act, NDAA, FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, and National Defense Resources Preparedness, along with strange militarization of the HDS, many people are beginning to realize that we are losing our civil liberties faster and faster ever day. Now with the discussion of gun control, the subject is beginning to heat up even more. I want this to be a thread for any Libertarians or others to join in on the topic and share opinions, ideas, new knowledge, personal experiences, and debate the things going on in our world today. Pleas keep this thread free of any serious aggression and help it remain a healthy debate. any comments would be appreciated, Thanks!!

The Definitions of the laws listed above

Patriot Act: allows government to tap into your phone, computer, emails, and others all without a warrant.

NDAA: Allows the government to secretly arrest any american citizen without a trial and subject them to military action, weather it be incarceration, torture, or death penalty.

FAA MRC 2012: To put 30,000 drones over american soil by 2020. thats 1 drone for every 10,000 citizens.

NDRP: Allows the government to take any privately owned property whenever they see fit.

These are just a few.

I would eliminate all these programs immediately.

The excuse given for them was 9/11. The hijackers are all dead. The leaders of 9/11 are dead or locked up. Time to get rid of this stuff. (we got along just fine without them).

It's still amazing to me how people think they cannot function without the government there for every little detail of their lives. Pathetic really. Guess I shouldn't be surprised. Government has a monopoly on schools so that is what people are taught.

I would add Sarbanes-Oxley or whatever it's called, and Obamacare to your list of massive usurptions of freedom. I can link anything to healthcare. Anything at all. Aint hard at all to do. It's basically giving complete control over every facet of life to the government.

Eric Holder: Drone Strike To Kill U.S. Citizen On American Soil Legal, Hypothetically

The Obama administration believes it could technically use military force to kill an American on U.S. soil in an "extraordinary circumstance" but has "no intention of doing so," U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said in a letter disclosed Tuesday.

Holder's March 4 letter was disclosed by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who had asked whether the Justice Department believed President Barack Obama had the legal authority to order a targeted strike against an American citizen located within the United States.

The Obama administration, Holder said, rejected the use of military force where "well-established law enforcement authorities in this country provide the best means for incapacitating a terrorist threat." But in theory, it'd be legal for the president to order such an attack under certain circumstances, Holder said.

What do you think?

Can you imagine the media outrage if these drone actions were taken while Bush was in office?
