Though I do find it odd he has no qualms about releasing hundreds of criminal illegals back onto the streets. Seems like a lot of work to get rid of these folks.

Obama Wants to Deport Christian Home School Family | Christian Family | Fox Nation

By Todd Starnes

The Romeike family fled their German homeland in 2008 seeking political asylum in the United States – where they hoped to home school their children. Instead, the Obama administration wants the evangelical Christian family deported.

The fate of Uwe and Hannelore Romeikie – along with their six children – now rests with the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals – after the Dept. of Homeland Security said they don’t deserve asylum.

Neither the Justice Dept. nor the Dept. of Homeland Security returned calls seeking comment.

“The Obama administration is basically saying there is no right to home school anywhere,” said Michael Farris, founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association. “It’s an utter repudiation of parental liberty and religious liberty.”

This thread is stupid. Obama has deported more illegals than any other President in history, far more than Dubya. 1.5 million per year on average since he took office and he's sped up the process so it takes weeks instead of months. He's doubled the size of the border patrol, made sure more of them are actually officers on the southern border, and he's built the wall the right wing demanded (at least covering all urban areas), he's increased enforcement to punish companies which hire illegals which is something the Bush adminstration gutted as a kick back to his wealthy business donors.

When will it be enough? When will you right wing nutjobs even ACKNOWLEDGE the massive improvements he's done compared to the failure of the previous Republican administration? Instead all we get are lies, spin, and half truths out of the RWNJs.

Wow, you should learn to read and reflect.

The family 'fled' Germany because home-schooling is not allowed in Germany. There is no issue concerning home-schooling here in the USA, or even that these people are Christian.

The issue is: does a denial of the ability to home-school in your homeland (Germany) serve as a basis for political asylum in the United States.

That is the issue here. All else is twaddle.

I thought he had to let all those illegals out to save money due to the sequester. How much money is the administration paying in court costs to deport these people?

Do you want us to adhere to our laws or not?

This German family does NOT face persecution in their homeland. All they are asked to do is adhere to German law, which states that ALL children under a certain age MUST attend school.

Not wanting to adhere to the local laws is generally not reason enough to grant asylum.

There are plenty of other laws that Germans have to adhere to but that are not laws here. Did you know that a forum such as this cannot exist in Germany? Operators of forums are liable for the content, regardless of who posts it. Thus, they are forced to run every single posting through an editor who needs to approve it. Posters on a forum such as this who hurl insults or those who spread blatant lies about anyone, including politicians, can and often will be prosecuted for libel. Insulting other people is also an offense.

Should the people who want to exercise the right to insult others that we have here in the US also be granted asylum?

The only reason why this family is in the US in the first place is because of some extremist view of religious freedom that argues that the exercise thereof should free you from adhering to certain laws, such as having to send your kids to school.

It's ridiculous and the current administration is absolutely correct in sending these fools back home.

"The fear of persecution is why an immigration judge granted the family political asylum in 2010."

One judge has apparently decided that it is. BO apparently feels the judge was wrong and wants it overturned.

When folks like his beloved Auntie Z are told to get lost they can feel free to violate a judge's order. When these folks get a judge's order they don't like BO will be at the ready to spend our tax dollars to get it overturned.

Think about the case at hand. Mind, your first posting was misleading, for it sounded like this family was going to be deported because they wanted to home-school their children here, in the USA, and due to their being Christian.

Now, the issue is this: should it be the policy of the United States Government to allow political asylum for those people who wish to home-school their children, but whose home country does not allow home-schooling.

It may well be that the Obama administration feels that being denied the right to home-school children in a foreign country should not become part of 'political asylum' in this country.

What are your thoughts, if any, on this specific point.

Get real BO probably hasn't even heard of these people. Our govt entities handle this stuff.Any president has alot more on the table than this minor item. The laws are just being enforced is all.

Well, the law is the law and if the court ruled one doesn't get asylum just to home school their kids then they should just accept that and leave. Odd though that Obama is ok with allowing illegal aliens that have jumped our borders illegally for economic gain to remain here just as long as they don't have a felony on their record even though many of them are felony ID thieves but just haven't been caught yet.

Not true. He admitted himself that those deportation numbers were scewered. He didn't build any wall. The wall that was approved by congress years ago was not funded and therefore wasn't built. Most of what there is some real wall but mostly cattle wire that wouldn't hold anyone back. The company raids happened during the Bush administraton. Obama stopped them once he was in office. So what are you talking about? He also has given 1.8 million illegals a stay of deportation with work permits and told HS not to deport any illegals unless they are "convicted" felons along with promising amnesty for the rest. How is that enforcement of our immigration laws? You really are misinformed on this subject.

Can't debate without the insults? Right wing nutjobs? Is that what those of us for the rule of law are?
