Think about the case at hand. Mind, your first posting was misleading, for it sounded like this family was going to be deported because they wanted to home-school their children here, in the USA, and due to their being Christian.
Now, the issue is this: should it be the policy of the United States Government to allow political asylum for those people who wish to home-school their children, but whose home country does not allow home-schooling.
It may well be that the Obama administration feels that being denied the right to home-school children in a foreign country should not become part of 'political asylum' in this country.
What are your thoughts, if any, on this specific point.
I believe the asylum was granted on the basis of religious persecution, not strictly a desire to homeschool. Another poster said BO surely had bigger things to worry about ...... while that makes sense it would also seem if BO really wasn't concerned about this he wouldn't be bothering a family already granted asylum while his illegal aunt remains and he's attempting to get amnesty for millions of illegals who've done nothing to follow out immigration laws. Sounds like sour grapes on the Administration's part.
The family 'fled' Germany because home-schooling is not allowed in Germany. There is no issue concerning home-schooling here in the USA, or even that these people are Christian.
The issue is: does a denial of the ability to home-school in your homeland (Germany) serve as a basis for political asylum in the United States.
That is the issue here. All else is twaddle.
It sure is different when it comes to illegals from certain other countries. Because there are no food stamps in their own countries, they are allowed to come here in very large numbers and are being promised a huge amnesty.

Let me add .... as German nationals they are also EU citizens. That gives them the right to settle in other parts of the EU which do allow home-schooling (e.g. UK).
There is, therefore, no case for political asylum in the USA on the basis of home-schooling given that they have a legal and viable alternative in the EU.

Political asylum does not sound necessary in the matter of home-schooling; at least not to me.
I thought he had to let all those illegals out to save money due to the sequester. How much money is the administration paying in court costs to deport these people?
I'm sure legal proceedings aren't cheap but that's the same for every person tried for a crime. You'll notice he also doubled the size of the border patrol and increased enforcement of the law on employers who hire illegals.

Just like illegal immigrants from Mexico could move to other parts of Latin America that have job opportunities. But no, they have to invade the good ole USA instead.
Ah let them stay...we can absorb another world reject.
come to us you unhuddle masses yerning to bask in the lamplight of lady Liberty's flashlight to do your home schooled work assignments.
Happy Easter Everyone!
There is a limit on how many foreigners we can allow to take up residency in our country without it having a negative impact on our own citizens. That is why we have quotas for legal immigration. We are no longer a wide open frontier with plenty of jobs and resouces to accomodate everyone who wants to come here as we did over 100 years ago. Our nation is built now we don't need all these people today. I am sick of the poem on that statue that was given to us my France long, long ago anyway being use as justification for uncontrolled legal and illegal immigration into our country.
