Hey right wingers/Repubs/Conservatives...at what point do we stop adding more money to defense? What war are you Republicans planning on fighting? Shouldn't we be taking defense spending back down to pre-2001 levels?

Quote:
The budget would increase defense spending compared to current law by $500 billion over 10 years. Even though Ryan's plan increases defense spending compared to the sequester, the numbers are a cut compared to his last budget.

Ryan is only for cutting spending on poor people, the elderly and the disabled.

Spending more money to kill people in far away lands, and to contractors that kick back tons of money to him, are immune.

I think it depends on who floats your boat. Some favor Wall Street, some Bankers, some Real Estate, some Pharaceuticals, and yes, some Military.

Many have several.

He should be cutting it. When Romney said he was against cutting the defense budget it sealed it for me that I would be voting third party last election.

Or should I somehow try and blame this on Obama?

I just wanna know what it's all about. I know Republicans believe in a strong defense (just like everyone else), but at what point do they become embarrassed about our high levels of defense spending?

We can have an extremely strong defense if we do as Paul states and close a bunch of bases around the world.

The US debt clock shows military spending at about $665,000,000,000 this year! Add to that what we pay for the 17 intelligence agencies and we're talking nearly 3/4 of a trillion dollars. How long can we keep this up!

The repulbican wanted to take everythig back to 2007 levels but democrats refused. They also agree to takig 50% of the cuts from defense i teh sequester. they allowed tax increases. Not sure what Democrats want really has they agree then they bitv ch about cuts that are not that deep. Its as even they agreed is only a down pl ayment without cuttign entitlements. Een CBVO said that defense has remianed at near 4% since the Clinton cuts. They wanrned alos that defense is not there to cut like then.many Democrats seem to mistake defense spending to include war spending. That is separate from defense budget spending.Obama can cut war spending when he wants by just not spending on it.But its still ot goig to cut the defense bus dget. Now we see mnay Democrats wanting to stop cuts because most defense spending supports alot of jobs most in US just has they objected to base closings. and insisted on planes being keep to be built we een when the mil;itary wanted to cut certain ones.Follow the moeny ;like always.

Didn't some big-time general say that the national debt is a bigger threat to our security than radical Islam?
